Fall 2023 Undergraduate Research & Capstone Projects

Last week saw the conclusion of several QCAM undergraduate research projects from both the URS and Capstone Programs.

Two of the QCAM sponsored Capstone senior design teams at NMSU completed their year-long projects with a poster session at the Corbett Center on Friday, December 1st. Students from both teams showcased the knowledge and experience they gained by presenting their findings and answering questions from fellow students and NMSU faculty. Both projects were overseen by mentors from our partners at Kansas City National Security Campus. We were pleased to hear that at least one of the Capstone students had even accepted a position with KCNSC upon their graduation.

The URS Project team also completed their semester-long project on the Process-Driven Design of a Bracket Manufactured via Fused Filament Fabrication. They concluded their project with a virtual presentation at the QCAM Technical Meeting on Friday, December 1st. This project was overseen by QCAM Director, Dr. Borys Drach. One of these students is set to graduate this semester and will continue on with QCAM as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Spring.

We would like to wish the best of luck to all of these students as they continue on their educational journey and/or start their careers. We are eager to see what comes next for all of them
