Department of Energy-Office of Science and National Laboratories Visit
This past Tuesday, February 13th, NMSU was honored to play host to folks from the Department of Energy-Office of Science. This group included many key individuals from most of the National Laboratories along with the Department of Energy. During this visit, guests were invited to network with both students and faculty and allow them to learn more about potential career and funding opportunities, opportunities to perform research on-site at a national lab, and other professional development/training.
Later on, as a part of their visit, the QCAM team at NMSU was able to provide a tour of our Non-Destructive Evaluations lab where most of the QCAM project research is performed. This time was also used to provide some valuable insight into how the QCAM project is providing important research experience to the next generation of engineers. It was also a time to highlight the great work being done by QCAM students and faculty due to their access to mentorship and advisement from existing National lab partners like Los Alamos National Lab & Oak Ridge National Lab.
We hope this visit spurs lots more excitement and movement towards further developing these important relationships.
