
QCAM Summer Workshop

We invite you to participate in the 4th annual QCAM summer workshop! This is a unique opportunity to get specialized hands-on training in advanced manufacturing with a diverse group of students from all 3 QCAM Consortium partner universities.
The goals of this workshop are:
Engage students in hands-on advanced manufacturing activities related metal AM using DED technology.
Increase participants’ knowledge in advanced manufacturing using additive manufacturing as the platform.
Inspire participants to continue their education in the field of additive manufacturing and pursue employment with an NNSA Enterprise in the future.
To be eligible to attend, applicants must be:
Currently enrolled at a QCAM Consortium University
US Citizen
Minimum GPA of 2.5 for Undergraduate students or 2.75 for Graduate students.
The program will:
Provide a two-week in-person program at Navajo Technical University in Crownpoint, NM in May 2025.
Provide a weekly stipend.
Provide travel, housing, and meals.
o Travel to and from the NTU campus will be coordinated by your institutions QCAM representatives. You will stay in NTU dorm rooms, with 3 meals a day being provided at the NTU cafeteria.
Provide information from a variety of sources.
o NNSA Enterprises
o Academia
o Demonstrations on software and equipment used for
Metal AM (Machine operation/maintenance and safety
Machining (EDM/CNC)
Metrology (CMM, CT Scanning)
Materials testing (Tensile testing and DIC)
Materials characterization (Microscopy)
