Second Annual QCAM Summer Camp
The second annual Quality Control in Additive Manufacturing (QCAM) summer workshop was held at Navajo Technical University (NTU) in Crownpoint, New Mexico. Five students from New Mexico State University (NMSU) joined the two-week workshop, along with 10 others from NTU and Prairie View A&M University. Sponsored by the Department of Energy, QCAM aims to train a skilled workforce in STEM fields related to additive manufacturing and quality control for the National Nuclear Security Agency and other national labs. Led by Scott Halliday, the students received hands-on training in technologies like metal additive manufacturing, computer-aided design, and metrology. The workshop also included professional networking opportunities with scientists from national labs such as Los Alamos, Kansas City, and Oak Ridge.
The workshop provided comprehensive introduction to the field of additive manufacturing. The workshop provided the unique networking and team-building opportunities to all participants.
